The Ithaca High School (IHS) Chorale has been selected to perform at the 2025 New York State Music Association (NYSSMA) Winter Conference taking place December 4-7 in Rochester, N.Y. The ensemble is scheduled to perform on Thursday, December 4, at 8 p.m.
This invitation is among the highest honors a school music ensemble can achieve in New York State. The IHS Chorale is the only choral ensemble statewide to be chosen to perform at this year’s conference.
Selection followed a highly competitive process that included audition recordings from current and past concerts, along with supporting concert programs.
“For a school music ensemble in New York, this is one of the highest honors,” Kristin Zaryski, IHS Chorale Director, said. “I couldn’t be more proud of the students, past and present, who helped us earn this distinction.”
The Chorale will spend the coming months preparing a 20-minute program for an audience of music educators and industry leaders.
