Students and Staff Recognized at December Commendation Ceremony

On December 12, district leadership and the ICSD Board of Education recognized the extraordinary achievements of students and staff at the first Commendation Ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year!

The purpose of the quarterly Commendation Ceremonies is to celebrate the success of Team ICSD members who go above and beyond in the arts, athletics, and the community. Special recognition is also paid to individuals who embody the ICSD’s Culture of Love.

Culture of Love Awards

  • Carson Case (Technology Teacher at DeWitt Middle School) - Committed - Carson runs the Technology Student Association Club and has dedicated much time and resources toward the projects of students. He makes sure all students feel welcome and tries his best to be present every day. 

  • Larissa Anderson (Associate Principal at Beverly J. Martin) - Committed - Larissa always shows up to support staff quickly. She knows the subject matter and listens first. She brings so much joy to BJM and is always a part of classroom routines! 

  • Paula Sposito (Teacher Aide at Enfield Elementary) - Committed - Paula ensures free groceries are stocked and available for families and students. She creates a space where there is zero stigma and everyone is welcome.

  • Steven D’Alterio (English Teacher at Ithaca High School) - Committed - Steven has gone above and beyond to develop strong, collaborative relationships with all the students he serves.

  • Lucine Barseghyan - Committed and Selfless - Lucine is the founder of the Ithaca High School student-led student tutoring. This established peer-to-peer educational assistance. She is also a student leader serving as one of the Board of Education Student Representatives. 

  • Katie Everhart (Administrative Assistant at Enfield Elementary) - Caring - Katie is sure to greet every student and their families with warmth and a smile. She is so accommodating and easy to communicate with. She is recognized for her outstanding performance and support.
