PBIS: Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports. This school-wide initiative is a positive discipline plan that focuses on a proactive approach to preventing/reducing challenging behaviors and producing positive outcomes. PBIS creates positive environments by utilizing proactive strategies such as introducing, defining, modeling, teaching, and supporting positive behavioral expectations. After this, PBIS reinforces and rewards students for these positive social behaviors.

A celebratory harvest dinner at Lehman Alternative Community School (LACS) brought over 100 students and their families out for a night of learning, bonding, and trying a variety of fresh foods made by program participants and local restaurants.

This past spring, the Ithaca City School District was awarded a grant from the New York State Education Department to support a Farm to Table (FTT) summer and afterschool program. The ICSD FTT provides a contextualized, interdisciplinary, hands-on study of food, nutrition, gardening, and cooking.
