Ithaca to Pilot Girls Flag Football Program

Ithaca High School is one of 48 schools across New York State that will start a girls flag football program this spring.

On February 2, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) announced a partnership with the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, and New York Jets to launch a pilot for girls flag football this spring. Six sections, including Ithaca’s Section IV, have committed to teams participating in the pilot. Teams will play 6-8 games, and the season will run from April through the end of May. The NYSPHSAA hopes that girls flag football will move from a pilot program to “emerging sport” next spring.

Additional details about Ithaca’s girls flag football program are forthcoming. If you have any questions, please contact the Athletics Office at 607-274-2155.
