Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action
January 31 - February 4, 2022
For the fourth year in a row, Ithaca City School District educators will join the Black Lives Matter at School movement to further align instructional practices with our commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive education and to deepen the care and understanding of the lives of our Black students.
School should be a place where students and staff engage in deep and honest conversations about race, class, and power and develop relationships across differences, examine bias, and advocate for justice.
Throughout Black Lives Matter at School Week, each school will engage in teaching and learning activities that affirm Black lives. Check out our poster below, as well as this letter from district and union leadership, to learn more!
