ICSD Community Letter - April 30, 2021Dear ICSD Community,
As our community continues to welcome more and more students and staff back into school buildings, much love has been expressed by all during the transition. The flexibility and patience demonstrated by those engaged in both in-person and remote teaching and learning are appreciated.
At the elementary level, schools are welcoming students who wish to return back to learning in buildings. The transitions of our youngest learners are happening with a focus on both academic and social-emotional needs. Along with students, we are also excited about the return of many of our art and music teachers to buildings as well. These amazing educators continue to build relationships and inspire in physical and digital learning spaces.
At the secondary level, we are finalizing plans with educators who will return to buildings and those who will remain remote. We appreciate the survey completion and feedback from families and students engaged in distance learning-only. Please wait until you hear from your school prior to returning to the building. After welcoming as many students as possible back for two days, we will then begin the process of offering more students the option to attend in-person four days per week, as possible. We will continue to prioritize students with special needs, English language learners, and those who may not be able to engage on remote days.
Please contact your school principal if you have questions. I wish you a wonderful weekend.
