ICSD Community Letter - April 2, 2021April 2, 2021
Greetings ICSD Community,
As the week of Spring Break approaches, I wish to express gratitude for your tireless efforts to support one another, and remind you of available resources to support your well-being. This pandemic has required constant vigilance and flexibility from our school community. May the week ahead provide space for you to care for yourself and be filled with many joyful moments.
New York State has lifted testing and quarantine requirements for domestic travel as of April 1, 2021. Please be advised, the CDC recommends delaying travel until you are fully vaccinated, because travel increases your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. If you are not fully vaccinated and must travel, follow CDC’s recommendations for unvaccinated people.
Whether you are staying close to home or traveling out-of-state, please take these everyday steps to keep you, your loved ones, and our community safe:
- Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when in public.
- Avoid crowds and stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from anyone who is outside of your household or who is not traveling with you.
- Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer (with at least 60% alcohol).
As we adhere to physical health, it is important to monitor our mental health as well. Please consider the following mental health supports available for students, staff and caregivers. The New York Office of Mental Health (OHM) Emotional Support Helpline provides free and confidential support for those experiencing increased anxiety due to the pandemic. To access the Emotional Support Helpline, call 1-844-863-9314. We encourage staff and their immediate family members to access the free, voluntary and confidential services available through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). To make an appointment with EAP, staff can call 1-800-EAP-8764. A list of spring workshops is available here.
We continue on this journey together and I wish you a safe and restorative week.
