ICSD Community Communication March 29, 2021March 29, 2021
Greetings ICSD Community,
While navigating this health pandemic, we continue to make the necessary shifts and changes as new data and information emerge. Regardless of the unprecedented events and challenges, our community responds with a student-centered mindset. Today, I’m writing to share some important plans and vision for the remainder of the current academic school year.
At the elementary level, we plan to welcome more students back in-person. We have invested in polycarbonate barriers to allow students to be closer together with protection. If you are a distance learning family in grades PreK-5 and you want to return in person, please call or email your child’s school by Friday, April 2nd. (If you have already notified your child’s school that you would like your child to return, you do not need to reach out again.) For distance learners wishing to return to an in-person learning modality, we hope to have them back no later than April 26th.
We also wish to welcome more middle and high school students back into school buildings. However, we continue to experience staffing challenges. We anticipate more in-person options at the secondary level as more educators become fully vaccinated and return to in-person instruction. We will provide updates and information about secondary shifts when the staffing situation improves.
Your patience, flexibility and engagement are appreciated as we continuously engineer experiences for our young people in the midst of extraordinarily uncertain circumstances.
Regards,Luvelle Brown Ed.D.
