Positive COVID-19 Case at Northeast, In-Person Learning to Continue
Dear Northeast Elementary School Community,
Today, the Tompkins County Health Department (TCHD) notified me that an in-person Northeast student has tested positive for COVID-19. All students and staff who were in close contact with the positive individual are already home, engaged in distance learning and teaching. We have notified those individuals that we will be sharing their information with the TCHD and that public health nurses will follow up with them to discuss quarantine. Those who are close contacts will continue distance learning and teaching through their TCHD-imposed quarantine period.
Due to excellent cohorting practices at Northeast Elementary School, the remainder of the school can continue in-person instruction. This is a true testament to the outstanding work of the Northeast staff and students. Thank you.
