Student Screening Guidance for Families

State guidance requires mandatory daily health screenings of students returning to school for in-person instruction. The screenings, which include temperature checks, are to be completed at home each morning before students report to school for the day.
 

Symptom Screening

To keep your child/ren and all members of the ICSD community safe, we ask you to check your child/ren daily for the following COVID-19 symptoms before attending school1. Please keep your child/ren home if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • fever of 100°F or above, or chills
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • shortness of breath or trouble breathing
  • fatigue
  • muscle or body aches
  • new loss of smell or taste
  • nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
  • congestion or runny nose
  • headache
If you feel that you or your child/ren have symptoms related to COVID-19 please consult your healthcare provider.

The district reserves the right to send your child/ren home following evaluation by a school nurse based on these symptoms or others.

If your child has any of the following symptoms, or other injury or illness you consider to be life-threatening, call 911:
  • trouble breathing
  • chest pain
  • bluish lips or face
  • new confusion
  • is harder than usual to wake up or has unusual trouble staying awake
