Students, educators, community members, and more celebrate #teamICSD Day

The first #teamICSD Day, held on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, showcased what a special learning community Ithaca City School District (ICSD) is to a variety of stakeholders. From students and educators to community organizations, schools, and beyond, participation in the one-day event was inspiring.

"The goal of #teamICSD is to celebrate the culture of love that exists in our learning organization," said ICSD Superintendent Dr. Luvelle Brown. "Our district is patient, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, and dedicated -- #teamICSD Day provided an opportunity for everyone to share memories and messages regarding how ICSD has positively impacted their lives."

A search of #teamICSD reveals more than 50 (and growing!) social media posts including photos and videos.

"#teamICSD We love teaching at @IthacaNYSchools because of the incredible kids," tweeted Northeast Elementary School.

"#teamICSD engaging empowering inclusive creative Boynton Musical rocks!," tweeted Boynton PTA.

"On teamICSD Day #IPEI Grants Committee is reviewing 40 applications for 1st round grants #201617 #innovate #engage," tweeted the Ithaca Public Education Initiative.

Additionally, Mayor of Ithaca Svante Myrick proclaimed Nov. 15, 2016 as Team ICSD Day during a ceremony at BJM Elementary School.

"This proclamation is an opportunity for the City of Ithaca to not only demonstrate support for the Ithaca City School District, but call upon all residents to wear Cardinal; Whereas, the City of Ithaca celebrates with the students, families, and partners of the ICSD throughout the world," proclaimed Mayor Myrick.
