Ithaca City School District is ranked the 6th best school district for Teacher Support in New York State.

New York school districts were assessed on several factors, which represent how well a school district supports their teachers. Criteria included class size, availability of administrators and support staff, and student proficiency levels.

The district has over 5,400 students and employs more than 685 teachers to meet student needs. With a ratio of about 11 students per teacher, ICSD strives to ensure that all students achieve academic excellence, states a Teacher.org report on the rankings. According to the report, ICSD was the only school district in Upstate, New York to rank in the top 20. Also, it is one of three schools from all school districts assessed to employ more than 300 support staff.

The report states, teachers work hard every day, and the more support they have the better they can succeed at inspiring our future.
