Garden Based Learning


The DeWitt Middle School garden is not an isolated program. There are thousands of school gardens in every state with varying degrees of integration in the school culture. Some are part of after school programs, some serve the surrounding community and many, like ours, are integrated into the school curriculum. Many controlled studies have been done to ascertain the effectiveness of school gardens in academic success. These and other links are presented below.
