Announcements

Biology - R/H
IHS has merged the Regents and Honors classrooms for the 9th grade Biology course which will match course structures in other core classes. Students may take Biology for Regents or Honors credit. Students and their families need to make their final decision about whether to take the class for Core or Honors credit after the first four weeks of school. Student classwork and homework is structured to prepare students for success on mastering Biology concepts and improving their scientific reasoning. Opting to take the class for Honors credit does not involve a change in teacher or class period. Students who opt to take the course for honors credit will complete assignments, laboratories and have assessment modifications throughout the year. IHS encourages all students to take advantage of the Honors opportunity this year, as it will provide the foundation for future Advanced Placement (AP) coursework. Contact Carlan Gray, Science Department Chair with any questions.
