Kids' Book Fest Will Dazzle

Family Reading Partnership’s 18th annual Kids’ Book Fest will take place on November 14, 2015, at Boynton Middle School in Ithaca. Kids’ Book Fest is a free, fun, community-wide celebration of children’s books and the joy of reading together. Themed “The World of Eric Carle,” this year’s event continues a year-long celebration of 20 years of welcoming babies to the community with the gift of Eric Carle’s classic, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” through Family Reading Partnership’s Welcome Baby! program.
Festival-goers will explore the wonderful world of Eric Carle through art, performances, and a one-of-a-kind interactive book experience, featuring Carle’s “The Mixed-Up Chameleon.” Highlights include costumed storybook characters, special art and story-related activities from Family Reading Partnership and community organizations, and performances of favorite children’s books, including many of Eric Carle’s, by students in the Voice and Movement class in the theater department at Ithaca College. New this year, children and families can also visit the Kids’ Book Fest Library, where they can read together, play librarian, and even check out books to take home!
