When are the tax bills due?
The Ithaca City School District school taxes are mailed to property owners on September 29, 2016. The deadline for paying without penalty is October 31, 2016. There is a penalty of 2% if paid between November 1 - November 30, 2016 and a penalty of 3% if paid between December 1 - December 29, 2016.
I did not receive a tax bill.
All tax bills are sent to the property owners on record as of July 1. If you are a property owner and did not receive a tax bill, contact the ICSD Tax Office immediately at (607)274-2217 for a copy of the bill for your property.
I received a tax bill, but it still has the previous owner’s name on it.
Depending on the time of the year your property changed hands, the new owner information may not have been received by the Assessment Office in time to be reflected on the school tax bill. All tax bills are sent to the property owners on record as of July 1. If you are the current property owner you are responsible for the payment of that tax bill even if your name is not on the bill.
I received a school tax bill and I no longer own this property.
The new owner’s information was not received by the Assessment Office in time to be reflected on the school tax bill. Please forward the bill to the new owner or return it to the Tax Collector, with the name and address of the new owner, if available.
I have an escrow account, but I still received a school tax bill.
All property owners receive the original copy of their school tax bill. Escrow companies will receive a list of properties for which they are responsible. They also contact the school tax office during tax collection time to obtain tax information.
Can I make two or more payments?
No. Partial payments are not accepted.
Can I transfer funds electronically from my bank?
No. The Tax collection process for the Ithaca City School District is not setup to accept electronic fund transfers.
Do you accept credit card payments?
No. Credit card payments are not accepted.
My STAR exemption is missing?
Contact your local Assessment Office concerning any exemptions.
I am a Veteran and I don’t see the exemption reflected on my school tax bill.
Veteran’s exemptions do not apply for school taxes.
I call the tax phone line, but only get a long message.
