Caitlin Bram - New Principal of Fall Creek Elementary School
Caitlin Bram, a familiar face around the Ithaca City School District, will take on a new role this fall as principal of Fall Creek Elementary School.
After teaching at Fall Creek for seven years, Bram is excited to return to the school and create a positive, studious community “where everyone can be interdependent in a really positive way,” she said.
Bram has also taught at Enfield and Northeast elementary schools and, for the last two years, was a Master Educator who led the ICSD’s Early Childhood Programs and assisted with professional development. There, she found a passion in helping teachers improve through advanced learning and training, community building, and researching innovative curriculums and best practices.
Teaching art and reading at Fall Creek also planted the seed for Bram to serve a larger school community. “I realized holding the whole school, in one way, was very satisfying,” she said. “I was seeing every student’s strengths in a whole new context.”
Bram looks forward to interacting with long-time coworkers in new ways and facilitating collaboration among Fall Creek’s teachers to improve student learning. She also plans on encouraging a joyful atmosphere for students.
“These are kids,” she said. “They will learn the best if they’re happy and relaxed.”
In her spare time, Bram enjoys creating, gardening, reading, and spending time with her two dogs.
