ICSD Adding Text Messaging Capability ICSD Adding Text Messaging Capability: The Ithaca City School District is adding text messaging capability to SchoolMessenger Communicate, the system it currently uses to call and email families. IHS Class of 1951 Donation IHS Class of 1951 Donation: A $15,000 donation from the Ithaca High School Class of 1951 will help IHS’ technology and engineering department support its student teams and spark an interest in engineering in younger students. The gift will fund a trailer that will not only accompany teams like Code Red Robotics and the Technology Student Association to competitions around the state and country, but will serve as a mobile makerspace and outreach tool for younger students as well. IHS Orchestra Students Perform with Hip Hop Duo IHS Orchestra Students Perform with Hip Hop Duo: On October 28, eleven Ithaca High School orchestra students, under the direction of Bill Makin, performed as backup musicians for hip-hop duo Black Violin at the Smith Opera House in Geneva, NY. Math Principles of Robotics - New Course

Math teachers at IHS are developing a new math course for next year, called "Math Principles of Robotics." The goal is to teach math and computational thinking using Lego robots as an experiential learning tool.
