IHS Drama Students Present One-Act Plays, Dec. 7-8

Drama students from Ithaca High School (IHS) are please to present five student-directed one-act plays this week. The plays will be performed back-to-back at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 7 and Friday, December 8 in the Black Box Theater of the IHS Performing Arts Center.

Each year, IHS students have the opportunity to choose and direct a play under the guidance of Lorraine Tino. The students experience the whole process, from auditions to final production. This year, Hannah Barden, Ari Kirschner, Tobey Lennon, and Julia Machlin have undertaken the adventure.

The first play will be "While the Auto Waits," directed by Kirschner. Next will be "Claude's Got Work," led by Machlin. "Lockdown," directed by Barden, and "Bloody Mary," directed by Lennon will follow. Machlin also chose the last piece, "21 Chump Street."

The community is invited to come and see the work of our talented youth, including cast, crew, and directors. The Black Box Theater is located next to Kulp Auditorium in the IHS Performing Arts Center. Donations will be accepted at the door.
